Last year had light snow, so the ground water was low. There were no Sprng Openings. We will not drastically drain the lake again.
Despite the greenness of the trees, we are currently at risk for forest fires. The Open/Close dates were:

Around March 10th, the lake had completely thawed. At one point the water level was down 12 inches; sufficient rainfall brought the lake back to its normal level.
In addition, the dam was opened/closed 2 times during the past year; the dates were:

On July 25, 2000 a hole was noticed at the front of the dam. The next day several of the Pond Association members assisted in filling the hole. The dam was opened that afternoon and closed on
July 28, 2000. The Dam was opened for Fall Drainage on September 20, 2000, instead of the usual opening date of October 10th to allow additional drainage in anticipation of maintenance work
to be done on the dam. The dam remained open until December 12, 2000. In addition, the dam was opened/closed 2 times
during the spring; the dates were:

The dam was opened on September 16, 1999 and closed September 20, 1999 as a result of high water.
The dam was opened for "Fall Drainage" on October 10, 1999 and remained open until November 21, 1999. In addition, the dam was opened/closed 5 times
during the spring; the dates were:

Special Note: A small area of the stone at the top of the dam, where the waves hit, has been lost. We are starting to get some erosion in that area; the size
of the hole has been estimated at seven (7) feet across. The lake will be drained later in the year to assess damage and necessary repairs.
